Love is so sweet

And so are these cakes!

Who made the rule that it had to be 3 tiers?
I am in LOVE with this 2 tier one!

Or that it even had to be one big cake?!
I say the more the merrier!

Or that there only has to be cake?!
Love is sweet is so many ways...

This is your day, so do with it what you please!

Oh Happy Day!

Hoping to inspire a little sunshine in the Boise weather,
I thought yellow would be an appropriate color to blog about today...

How cute is THIS stuff?!

Surprise!

Like I said in my last post, there was underlying motivation for my cupcake posting.
*don't worry, it's good motivation*

It was because I was looking for inspiration for the cupcakes I made for my lovely friend, for her birthday!
And without further ado, here are the cupcakes!
{taaa-daaaa!!}

I, of course, had to make my famous fun-fetti recipe for the cupcakes.
{YUM!}
I then found silver cupcake liners, silver glitter sprinkles and silver candles to go along with
the rose color frosting/food coloring - all at Zurchers!

(Which, by the way, is where I got food trays for our wedding)!

We had a great dinner at Barbacoa that was followed by my cupcakes and glowing cotton candy!
How fun is that?!

Happy Birthday!! (even though this is a wedding blog) =)

In honor of my lovely friend, Jenn, I decided to post some
delicious pictures of inspiring cupcakes!
{There may be a hidden reason behind the photos...but I'm not telling what it is yet}

These cupcakes were deliciously inspired by The Cupcake Blog!

Catering

Depending on your venue (some only allow you to use their chef and/or bar), most will let you bring in your own catering service.

Here is the most important thing to keep in mind: NO ONE will remember the food!

My suggestion would be to have a reception with desserts (clearly stated on the invitation) and/or appetizers.

If you are going to do the full meal deal - sit down dinners take a LONG time (and most venues have time limits, so you may not have much time for the rest of the 'party' depending on the style of your reception), they are expensive, and you have to hire/pay for/tip enough staff to cover the event.

Buffet style full meals take less time as long as there are a few stations for food (STAY AWAY from creating LINES at your reception...boooorrrring).

3 Girls Catering is a great catering company in Boise...click HERE for their website.

If you are going the lighter route, appetizers should be put into different stations along with servers bringing around trays of munchies. This again, spreads people out, eliminates WAITING IN LINE, and people tend to mingle more rather than complain that they are in line forever.

In your stations, start with "filler foods" such as veggies, breads, fruit, etc...then move onto maybe pinwheel wraps/tea sandwiches, etc so you don't have to order as many (they tend to be a little more expensive than filler food).

Another good route to go instead of catering is COSTCO!!!!!

Again, NO ONE will remember the food, so make sure to create the environment you want!!

We wanted a good time  =)
