Location, location, location

Here are some resources for Boise wedding venues...

Keep in mind that some venues only allow you to use their catering, or will charge you more to bring outside catering services into their facility.

One of the main things to remember is weather plays a huge factor in your day. We got married in May, which can still be "if-y" weather (even though our wedding day was perfect), we decided to have things indoors so it wasn't an added stress if the weather didn't cooperate. We were able to take beautiful photos outside, so it worked out great!

We got married at our church, Capital Christian Center

We had our reception at The Adelmann, downtown on Capital and Idaho.
They were great to work with, and priced very reasonably. They were also one of the only places that had the capacity we needed for all our family and friends!

Some other places that we looked at were:
The room is beautiful, located in the Hoff Building, downtown,  but the capacity was too small for our guest list.

Capacity was limited here as well, but it's an awesome venue on the rooftop of a downtown building. There is a deli during the day that I highly suggest eating at! It's a beautiful view of Boise!

The museum is lovely, but priced high. The artwork/exhibits stay during your reception, so make sure you like what will be showcased. There were also quite a few regulations due to the artwork/exhibits, as well as noise ordinances for the rose garden out back...all things to keep in mind!

Bridal Shower

What fun is being the bride without a bridal shower?!

You can have different themes, like THIS ONE

And of course, include fun games like THESE   and    THESE

And for all you "throwers of bridal showers," HERE is a GREAT resource for any info you may need!

Here are some photos from both of mine (thank you again and again to the amazing ladies who made them so special)!

And of course, who doesn't love pedicures with the girls!

HERE is a video of one of my bridal showers...
And make sure to take tons of pictures, get video to remember how much fun you had, and have a blast with your ladies who love you!

Catering

Depending on your venue (some only allow you to use their chef and/or bar), most will let you bring in your own catering service.

Here is the most important thing to keep in mind: NO ONE will remember the food!

My suggestion would be to have a reception with desserts (clearly stated on the invitation) and/or appetizers.

If you are going to do the full meal deal - sit down dinners take a LONG time (and most venues have time limits, so you may not have much time for the rest of the 'party' depending on the style of your reception), they are expensive, and you have to hire/pay for/tip enough staff to cover the event.

Buffet style full meals take less time as long as there are a few stations for food (STAY AWAY from creating LINES at your reception...boooorrrring).

3 Girls Catering is a great catering company in Boise...click HERE for their website.

If you are going the lighter route, appetizers should be put into different stations along with servers bringing around trays of munchies. This again, spreads people out, eliminates WAITING IN LINE, and people tend to mingle more rather than complain that they are in line forever.

In your stations, start with "filler foods" such as veggies, breads, fruit, etc...then move onto maybe pinwheel wraps/tea sandwiches, etc so you don't have to order as many (they tend to be a little more expensive than filler food).

Another good route to go instead of catering is COSTCO!!!!!

Again, NO ONE will remember the food, so make sure to create the environment you want!!

We wanted a good time  =)
